As we close the 2011 year of club events and prepare for the 2012 winter/spring/summer season, I would like to thank the new members of the auxiliary board for the splendid job they did on the past events. Some of the events were: 10-10 party; chicken BBQ; Halloween party; and the Christmas Lighting Ceremony. The lounge was decorated for the Halloween party and Lighting Ceremony. The Children's Breakfast with Santa was a great success with Mr. and Mrs. Claus and all Auxiliary and Veteran's officers assisting. Mr. and Mrs. Claus arrived on the Yorkville Fire Department sleigh. The children were all excited to see them arrive.
At this time, I would like to thank Ozzie Osvoldik, Ken Eddy, Bob (Kahuna) Bowen and Dick Abel for helping me to keep the club grounds in great condition this past summer.
Thanks to our volunteers for running the different events: BOCCE -Alisa O'Conner; Golf League and Golf Outing - Gene Militello; Early Bird Party - Dave Welsh; 10-10 Party - Auxiliary; Chicken BBQ - Auxiliary; 13-run Baseball - Dave Welsh; Football - Bob Bowen; Super Bowl - Larry DeLuca; Children's Halloween Party, Adult Halloween Dance, Tree Lighting Ceremony, New Year's Eve Party and the Children's Breakfast with Santa - Auxiliary; Plus do not forget Pauline Polinski for all her help, Kim Petronella and Debbie Penc for taking care of two Pitch Leagues, Larry and Joe Pendolf and Ron Usyk for running the Shuffleboard League. Thank you to my wife, Millie for helping me with many projects and the membership at the club. Thank you to Debbie Clarke and Kay Giannnico for doing the 50/50 raffles. Thanks also to Bob Bowen and his crew for doing the Turkey NA Pail.
Please check our bulletin boards and Hi-Lite sign for all the functions that the Club has. We always need members to support all the club functions.
Members, please pick up your 2012 membership cards at the bar. We do not mail the cards out.
If I messed any events, I am sorry, but know that we are grateful for all the help given by all the volunteers.
Thanks again,
Dave Welsh, Secretary. |
